Default New 18 roadking

Hey guys just looking for some advice and help I’m going to purchase a Road King special this weekend

I don’t want to change too much on the bike I just want to do mufflers/ slip ons did that cause anyone problems after changing them from stock?
If I need a fule pack it voids my warranty
the dealer said changing the mufflers does not void the warranty
I’m hoping someone on here has already done this to there bike

I went with Eliminator 400's from Vance and Hines. They are EPA compliant so the warranty concern should be void.

Take a listen

I'd say you're safe with EPA-compliant slip-ons (they are marked as such), and no tuner is needed. However, I guarantee that EPA-compliant mufflers aren't going to give you the sound you're looking for. You can tune, but must use the Screamin' Eagle EPA-compliant tuner.

If you get the Street Canons and ventilator air cleaner along with the HD tuner and your warranty will remain intact while giving bumping up the performance a tad.

That's a little easier to understand now. lol

I had the S&S MK45's installed a week or so after I took the bike home. They were on order the day I bought the bike.

JUST slip on's shouldn't need a tune. Mine didn't. But as someone else already said, the sound M8's produce are not what many are used to from the older Harleys.

IMO the S&S had the best sound JUST for a slip on change. Still running them now with my stage 2 upgrade and I think they sound pretty good.

You mean as in less valve train clatter and less vibration squeaks and rattles? My M8 with V&H slipons doesn't sound much different than my 06 RK with the same mufflers except the M8 has a slower idle.
