Guess I'm somewhere in the middle then. Bought mine last June, middle of. Right at 7k on it now. Riding season is here, so I expect I'll have around 10k by the time the full year is up.

Also, I ride almost every day to work and back, and home and back for lunch as well. I think its about 10 miles one way.

I've put 8800 miles on my road King since Sept. I really don't care. I doubt I will trade this one in, I may buy another but I want to keep my Road King. I didn't buy it as an investment but as a luxury item for me to have fun on. I'm really not worried about resale value.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m glad I’m not the only one then haha. When I bought my new bike I kinda told the wife “this is my thing” and I gave up buying a new truck to do it. Ever since I got into this HD thing it seems like nothing else matters as much haha. Splitting the miles between 2 bikes is just an exscuse to have a second bike, one of you saw through me haha.

I have retired and have 25,000 per year for 6 years. Coast to coast every summer. I have traded every 2 years because I didn't want too much trouble away from home.
$10,000 to $11,000 each trade. First was a Roadglide and dealer had in store for a year before sold. Next 2 Limiteds dealer wholesaled out.
Always extras that are added so dealer makes out pretty good. This time the wireless headsets at almost a $1000.
A friend has 75,000 on a 13 Roadglide and it shows ware and they deducted some off of low book against there sticker price, If you are going to use them value will go down!
Harley's are expensive to buy and maintain so I am getting my value on the journey like other people said. Dealer wants to sell bikes so he keeps telling me not to keep 3 years and 75,000 miles. I don't know what he would trade for then. At 72 this might be my last touring bike.
I enjoy reading the forum and good info I get Thanks everyone!

thanka for the advice! Sounds like you’ve had a life well lived. I really like the sportster 72 and will probably find a used one in a couple years to ride to work.

I don't ride near enough. I office out of my house so I don't have any where to go during the week. If I do have to go into my real office then its a 4 mile round trip. Weekends Im usually super busy keeping the 3 kids occupied. I bought my 17 SG last june and I only have a little over 2000 miles as of today
I understand your pain! 17 Ultra bought in August. Only got 1500 on the ticker.

I averaged 40K for the past three years. The five years prior I was doing 30K a year average. I divide that between a couple dozen bikes so I don't wear any out.

At 7K for this year but I am slowing down. The 4k ride to Laughlin River Run at the end of April wore me out. 77 is just too old to keep it up.

Right around 13-15k per year here. You can never ride too much.

I like the addictive path your going down, Now what I did in my early 40s was convince the wife she wanted a heritage or deluxe and if she thinks she picked it out you have your second bike
and she never catches on. The down side is when she adds bling you kinda don't want to ride her scoot any more..lol

I averaged about 10,000 per year on my Yammy. Bought the Limited middle of last June and put 13,000 on it last year. Up around 14,500 now after a slow start to spring here in Ohio. I ride to and from work as much as possible since it's 40 miles one way and my truck averages 12.8mpg. I also ride between 300 and 600 miles most weekends depending on weather. I have zero concern for resale. I'll just ride this one until it's done and figure out where to from there when I get there.
