Default Warning garage opener fail

I purchased the HD garage door open and had the dealer install. Got home an installed the receiver an the garage door would not open. Talked to Harley and local dealer, no solution there, so spent a long time on the phone with chamberlian/liftmaster. Turns out that if the open has a yellow learn button this means it is 2.0 technology and it is not compatible with any other receiver/transmitter like the HDsystem. If your openener has a purple learn button the HD system will work. I don’t know about other brands.

I have no idea why HD sells that abomination rather than a homelink like add on for the bike. 99% of garage door openers in use today (e.g., installed since the 80s) have a receive that homelink can be pared with. Why on earth Harley came up with a proprietary transmitted and receiver, that you need to wire into your garage, I'll never know.

I just velcro'd an opener to my glove box. Problem solved. You just need the right bike.

Look up creative access solutions on eBay. He has a part you plug inline to the receiver and it work awesome. It is about 50 bucks shipped and super easy to install and program.

The Harley door opener provides a contact closure to open or close the door, not a signal to the opener itself like an additional remote opener fob would. It sure as hell would work better if it was set-up as an additional door opener fob, but that would cost less money!!
