Loose the box and get a proper carrier for your stuff, The Bagganizer.
I've been using mine since 2014 and everything is right there when I need it.
The front pocket holds your Registration and insurance card, I also stick the instructions for using the pin code there just in case the fob dies The big inside pockets holds 2 owners manuals and room for a couple of real maps for when the GPS gets lost.
Hand crafted by my talented wife.

I emptied the contents of bags into a box when I put the bike away for the winter since I Knew I was going to be removing them for some mods. Another box was placed on top of the contents of my saddlebags. I'm usually very organized so it must be wife's fault.
