The difference is harley builds all their bikes as tributes to the past. Other companies build bikes for the future but still have a few models that hint at their past and heritage.

And the thinking that harley is priced too high is because of what you get. Your paying more than most other similar bikes and getting technology that was invented in the 50s. If the tank badge didnt say harley barley anyone would buy them as they would be considered too expensive for the market. Lets face it, if honda put a conventional front end on the goldwing nobody would buy them. When harley does it, its "nostalgia".

I'm pretty sure in 1950 they didn't have cruise ,abs,gps,49 mm forks, 117 Cu In, Tour pak, heated seats, heated grips. 300 amp Stereo, Fairing. Kinda everything that comes on a Indian or Goldwing.

They had 41mm forks with the same internals... fairings they had too. The point is hondas goldwing has a really advanced girder(just like bmw) and indian at least uses a rear suspension that has more than 3 inches of travel. And what abs that can lock up and kill you, thats impressive.

I saw all I needed to see concerning HD this weekend. Bought a pair of HD boots. Got home and saw they were made in Vietnam.... Took them back this morning. Who ever thought that was a good idea at HD needs there *** kicked. I'm done,,,, It's clear HD's value system is in the gutter...
