People say Harley’s are priced too high

Getting prepared to buy a 2018 pickup. Anyone here shopped them lately? Here's an example on the Ford:
2018 F250 Super Duty Crew Cab 4x4 = $39k+
Powerstroke Diesel = $49+
Lariat Pkg = $61k
King Ranch = $67k
Platinum = $72k
All these are baseline prices for a specific build level. You can reasonably anticipate another $3k to $9k in various options and upgrades. In my case I'm looking at a Lariat with enough extras to drive the price toward $68k. That's over $73k with sales tax. Ford is offering ZERO incentives as the trucks are selling strongly. I've seen several lots holding $75k trucks and a few approaching $80k. My '12 diesel worth $30k seems like a cheap ride.
Harley overpriced? Definitely a matter of perspective.

I was hoping someone would say this. Some dealers are actually taking 9 to 10 per cent discounts off msrp right now. I can buy a $70k truck for $63K (+/-) if I shop. That's in the ballpark of the percentage discounts I saw last summer at HD dealerships around central Ohio.
By the way, Ford is definitely not putting out any big incentives on leftover 2017 F250s...so not sure I'd count on the '18s getting huge discounts.

. "Of which HD hasn't a clue. 115 years of stagnation."
Yet since 2000 Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki large touring machine sales has dropped a full 50% while H-D touring sales has been stable.
Add in the BMW, Triumph and other big touring machines like Victories and Indian Harley still has 50% of the touring market covered year after year.
Now just explain in simple words to this not very bright old man how that SUCCESS translates into clueless and stagnation.
Also why did Honda issue a press release a few years back that they would no longer design and build a bike for the US market but only the Asian market? That was after the Rune, VTX and Fury models were such a dismal failure in this country and cost Honda financial losses for years on their US market. Recently I saw a major Chicago area dear list multiple years of NOS bikes from Rebels up at huge discounts.

My girlfriend and I spent $275 at the grocery store today for a weeks worth of food. No kids, no pets, just us two. seems like a small fortune when you figure in its just the two of us and we dont buy over priced organic crap and I'm always price comparing generic vs name brand.
