People say Harley’s are priced too high

Perhaps prepaid service, yes. I was offered a prepaid service deal, $1,000 for the 1K, 5K, and 10K. I declined. Maybe the RGS guy got the Harley warranty and tire and wheel and lifetime service... well, if you got the money and you never want to think about it again, I guess that's one way to go.

Well tonight I did a little investigating into the prices of other new bikes as compared to my 18 Electra Glide Ultra and came away with this answer, the new Yamaha touring bike when built like my ultra was more than the price of my ultra and did not come with as much as I got stock. The new Goldwing is more and even though it is a smooth ride it would not have suited me in the ergonomics as I have had too many knee surgeries and can’t ride with my knees bent. Both look like good bikes but the cost is at and really a little more than I paid. Prices on all are high, had sticker shock but my wife gave me the blessing, and I believe I got the best bike for me.

What exactly did your Harley come with that the new Yamaha Star Venture didn't come with? When I compared the two the Yamaha seemed to come with everything imaginable plus more. Granted they are limited on colors but that's about it. For crying out loud, it even has a reverse motor! I am not a fan of having to adjust the valves every 16,000 miles but other than that it looks like a pretty nice bike.

I think it also has hill assist. That would be a nice feature to have, especially when loaded down for t9uring

Hill assist? Automatic transmissions? Reverse?
I thought this was about motorcycles, not cars.
I have said it a thousand times. Everybody likes different things. To some, it's electronic gizmos and what not. To others, motorcycling is a way to get back to simpler, elemental, minimalist, basics.
Don't tell anybody, but I enjoyed the hell out of a vrod night rod special I tried a couple of years ago despite it's modern electronics. Damn thing made me feel young again instead of old and worn out like I am.
