Default 21" Reinforcer wheel

I ordered a 21" reinforcer wheel and noted it was for a 17 road glide with abs. The shop installing the wheel says the bearings are wrong and should have bearings specific to a 21" wheel/tire or my ABS will act up. Sport chrome says the bearings they sent should be correct. Shop said he can put in bearings he has used in the passed that will work or I can risk paying the labor to pull it back apart if the ones sport chrome sent are wrong. I just want to make sure I get the correct bearings in from the start. I don't mind buying new bearings I just want to avoid issues with my ABS. Is the sensor in the actual bearing itself?

I had no issues with Sport Chrome. The front ABS sensor is on the left side and it reads the mettalic portion of the left bearing. Make sure you install it right (spacing, which bearing side goes in first, etc). I used youtube for installation. Actually, Sportchrome has one loaded, step by step. My bike is 2017 SGS.

same here no problems with sports chrome, used the bearing that comes with their wheel kit. I've had no problems.

a bearing is not specific to a wheel size,it is specific to a hub.a bearing doesn't know if it is on a 16" wheel or a 26" wheel.the hubs are the same as per date of machine.

I would recommend using a ABS bearing specific for a 21" size tire. Your shop has probably used either Arlen Ness or MC Baggers for the 21" specific ABS bearing. With that bearing you can run a 120/70-21 or a 130/60-21. The 21" Reinforcer wheel I think comes with just a standard ABS bearing which usually is fine with a 130/60-21 tire but not with a 120/70-21 in our experience. Ask Sport chrome if the bearing is just a standard ABS or a corrective one for 21" tires.

Dude that looks absolutely killer! Love it! I’m going to hopefully have a 21 enforcer in chrome by summer time with an chrome front end on my RGS. The stock fender looks a lot better on a 21 than a 19.

yes he said Arlen Ness when I talked to him about it originally. Thank you for the information and making sense of it all.
