K-M has supplied special tools to GM for decades, and they’ve always been higher’n a cat’s back. Part of it may be a limited market for all of the R&D that goes into their products, but I believe simple greed may be responsible too...
Whatever the case, for many GM dealerships it’s the only game in town. Every year new ‘essential tools’ are released, and K-M is the only purchase point they have.

I decided to check my plugs at about 15,000 miles. I used the Lisle-51750-Adjustable-Spark-Puller like Sixguns and others recommend. Worked great I used it at the 45 degree angle. All the Plugs looked perfect and taking off the fuel tank made it easier.
BTW removing the fuel tank on a 2017 RK is easy.

Referring back to Doc Harley in the video, He acts like there is only 2 plugs in a M8 and his tool certainly will not remove the recessed plug wire boots. The Lisle 51250 tool seems to be the only one to reach the inner recessed plug boots and release them without damage to the boot or wire. Tool is priced under $10.00.

The lisle 51750 may not fit in that tight space. I just ordered the 51250. Did anybody bleed the pressure from the fuel system before removing tank. The book says to unplug the connector for the fuel pump, then run the engine until it dies. Crank the starter to make sure there is no fuel pressure.
