SEPST for the tuner. Station up the street has 93 octane non ethanol gas. I always fill up there first.

Ya revived a three year old thread...still interesting though. Just to add, I get between 43 and 46 pretty consistent. I am at higher altitudes mostly if that makes any difference and ride it like I want...

When my M8 Road King was stock I'd average 42.After doing a Stage 2 with an S&S 475 cam and just using the FP3 tuner that I could never get dialed in properly I was struggling to get 35. This winter I had the bike Dyno'd and just paid for the license to Power Vision so far with just short trips in cool weather getting about 40 . So much happier now .

I live in the country and have to be very watchful for deer. So my speeds are not real high. Before my Stage 2 I was getting 50+ regularly. Now I'm averaging 45-46 on a regular basis.

For those who made the change, how did it effect your gas mileage? I like the range with the stock set up. I'd be willing to sacrifice some of this, but not too much.

I'm gun shy because with a prior bike (2006 Wide Glide), my Indy told me that the performance mods wouldn't significantly effect my gas mileage unless I rode it hard. I went Stage 3 on that bike. Highway MPG went from around 50 to 35. I was always looking for a gas station and the first one that needed to stop.

Thanks
Emil
I did the hd stage 2 and my gas mileage stayed the same for the most part. I recently moved to a Zippers RS468 and now I lost some mileage. Seems to be around 30 miles a tank so no big deal. Zippers is so much better than the HD tq cam.

Why o why does fuel mileage always seem to come up on every forum. Truck forums, car forums and bike forums. Don’t I repeat Don’t buy it if you can’t put the gas in it. Who the hell cares about fuel mileage.
Fill the damn thing up and go and when it’s empty repeat.👌👍👌👍

I honestly don't think I've ever checked my mileage over 35 years and 6 bikes and what Goose222 said above ^^^^^

A lot of us older riders have always had to factor in mileage in order to know when it was time to gas up. There are still a lot of bikes out there that don't come with a gas gauge. And I would suspect there are older riders that don't fully trust those that do.
It's not a weakness or a sign of a deficiency to want to know. And some folks are just wired to wonder about such things. Both of you probably ride with some of them.
