When my M8 Road King was stock I'd average 42.After doing a Stage 2 with an S&S 475 cam and just using the FP3 tuner that I could never get dialed in properly I was struggling to get 35. This winter I had the bike Dyno'd and just paid for the license to Power Vision so far with just short trips in cool weather getting about 40 . So much happier now .

I have a 2017 RGU and am considering a stage 2 - all Harley parts. The bike is bone stock.
For those who made the change, how did it effect your gas mileage? I like the range with the stock set up. I'd be willing to sacrifice some of this, but not too much.
I'm gun shy because with a prior bike (2006 Wide Glide), my Indy told me that the performance mods wouldn't significantly effect my gas mileage unless I rode it hard. I went Stage 3 on that bike. Highway MPG went from around 50 to 35. I was always looking for a gas station and the first one that needed to stop.
Thanks
Emil

It's not a weakness or a sign of a deficiency to want to know. And some folks are just wired to wonder about such things. Both of you probably ride with some of them.
