It does make the point though that there really aren't any (or at least many) real stories to tell compared to the doom and gloom and all of the pure BS that folks like to spread about topics like this.

Even a negative result is a result.
Good thing we got the new guy to tell us how the forum works....

I think I'll start another one and make it a poll!
I think a poll is a good idea for the answers we're all interested in. Maybe...

1) I've had my '17+ warranty voided for slip ons
2) I've had my '17+ warranty voided for a tuner
3) I've had my '17+ warranty voided for combined mods
4) I've had my '17+ warranty voided for other reasons

Or just:

"I've had my '17+ warranty voided for using non HD parts."

I don't think anyone who got warranty support despite non-compliance would post about it unles 100% anonymity was guaranteed.

I'll be watching with interest...

You'd have to trade knuckles with my daughter over that one, she's staked a claim. I'll have that bike till dirt nap time.

New here, not to forums.

Find a thread anywhere that has gone more than 20 posts and stayed on topic. I'll be happy to buy you 3 beers if you can. If not, I'll only buy 2.

So you are saying that because threads have been hijacked in the past it is OK to hijack them now?

Yeah, that makes sense.....

If you're who I think you are, you're an old timer at V-Twin forums.
Is it slowing down over there? Everytime I go there not much happening..

I've just read 67 posts and I'm just as confused as I was when I started. OP wanted to know how many ppl have had warranties voided due to the use of non-compliant performance parts! So, to my understanding.....is it solely non-compliant HD parts or non-compliant EPA parts (I was of the belief that it was EPA). Being if the latter is the case, are other manuf (Power Commander; TTS, Vance &H) developing EPA compliant tuners for the M8 and if not, why not? Perhaps Steve Cole could clarify this point for me. All I know for certain is that I'm not doing any mods (other than slip-ons)until this mess gets cleared up.

Well I think they go hand in hand. MOCO isn't going to develop anything that is non compliant for the new M8's anyway. It's not in their best interest to do so. Hence the SE line of performance parts.

But yeah, I specifically wanted to know who actually had warranty work denied for non compliant reasons. It was foolish or me to think I could actually get JUST those responses in a thread so one wouldn't have to read through thousands of posts about what will void and what will not void warranties. Or what the ruling says or doesn't say about what constitutes a non compliant part or what constitutes a reason to void the warranty. FOOLISH lol
