Default Stock Air Filter

I’m less than 200 miles shy of my next maintenance so I went to the dealer to grab an air filter.

Just left the dealer and was shocked to hear that they’re backordered until December 11.

What gives?

Have you considered putting on a nice breather with K&N element you don't have to replace? Or doesn't K&N make one for the stock fitment?

I don’t believe they have one out yet.

Yep they have them.

Have you cleaned your IAW the maintenance manual or is it just worn out?

Do yourself a favor and step up to a Screamig Eagle replacement! Awesome,
Meantime you could just detergent wash and dry it?

Swing by Home Depot and go to the lawn mower isle, they have them in stock, made by Troy Built and probably a better filter, LoL. J/K but seriously, you should consider upgrading that tiny stock filter, it honestly looks like something that came off of a lawn mower, I couldn't believe it the first time I pulled the stock cover off.

Default air filter

how many miles since changing filter? should go 25k in highway riding, regardless of what MOCO says. take it off, hold it up to the sky......if you can see sunlight, you are good to go.

One of the first things I did was change the breather out so I can clean the filter. I tried that K&N HD-1717 and the plastic spacers inside crushed when tightened up to the lowest torque spec in the service manual. So I went with a good ol' Arlen Ness Big Sucker. Nice! I will grab the Street Tuner soon along with some good cans and have a mild stage one.
