If it fires off, how are you turning it off? Also, what triggers it?

If you want to add the remote to your security system, you'll need to buy the REAL H-D Smart Siren 2 (#68328-06A) because it's the only one that contains the supporting electronics for the remote pager.

If you have 2 bikes with security, and only one remote pager, you'll have to do a quick program of the remote for the bike you're planning to use (about 15 seconds) since the pager only supports one security system at a time. (I switch back and forth between my '13 Breakout and '17 SGS easily.)

Note: the pagers DO eat batteries, so have a few spare CR2450's on hand.)

Not to be to snide, but it's called BUY THE H-D SIREN! The reason H-D's siren is $95 is that it's more than just a cheap beeper in a plastic case. It contains the electronics for battery backup and the transmitter/encoder for the remote pager. The pager I bought for my '13 FXSB works fine with my '17 FLHXS - both have the real H-D Smart Siren 2. (You get what you pay for - about $78 online.)
