Default Bike position when checking trans fluid

On my 2013 FLTRU it said on trans dipstick with bike level and had low and full marks. On the M8s is the correct way to check with bike level or on jiffy stand?

Before you buy another accessory, invest in a H-D Factory Service manual for your specific bike.

The owners manual says to check it on the jiffy stand. I have checked it both ways one right after the other and the dip stick read the same both ways.

You don’t need a service manual to check your fluids

Trans gets checked on the jiffy stand

I check mine on the jiffy stand it takes some getting use to can be a little difficult reading the stick. You can use a paper towel to help read the levels, i find it better using a black plastic wire tie i pre measured and marked to the proper level. Works well for me poke around on the site there lot of other ideas riders have came up with. Manuels are well worth there money got mine for 70.00 bucks from my local dealer. Hope this helps enjoy the site.

Yeah really

You don't need an $80 manual to tell you how to check/change your fluids or even maintain your bike for that matter when the free owners manual that comes with the bike explains it all. And for some reason if the op doesn't have the original, its a free download on the Harley website.
