Most would agree with you. I am not sure what the heck was wrong with mine but after two years of trying and about $2300 in upgrades I called uncle.....had to get a new one! Stuck with Harley though. So far so good with the 114 M8...

There are M8 owners that have tried to get their's to transfer by running them hard and they still didn't transfer. Conclusion - some do, some don't.

Sounds like we have about the same riding patterns. You are absolutely right and I believe there is no other conclusion but to say some do and some don't. Just hope some never will!! I do feel for you and the others and really hope a fix comes out for it. Cheers.

Wow this is now giving some pause and concerns as I am about close to trading up to a 2018 M8 touring and I waited a year to have the first year bugs sorted...it almost feels like throwing a dice...

I suppose this can also apply to any other things you buy in life, some are made well and last a long time, others break right of the bat...

Perhaps if I only know what total numbers of M8 bikes sold to date, that are fluid transfer free, vs those that transfer fluid so I can estimate my odds...sigh

It always takes a few years to iron out the bugs on a new engine design, 1 year was never going to get you any material updates

Just and FYI those 1 million miles are simulated not actually fired up running engines. The crank is turned by an electric motor simulating running miles, the engine is not operational.
I know this because years ago I was with a company that was doing the same thing with Continental airplane engines.

So just looking at the list in the TA, and focusing on '18's, it appears to be the touring bikes that are effected. The new Softails aren't impacted?

Im not the end all know all and wont even pretend I do. I thought the same thing as you. It has something to do with the hydraulic clutch, possibly. The softails dont have hydraulic clutch so......... no problems? This will be interesting, to say the least....

Other than the counterbalancers, the Softails have the same motors.

They why were they not listed in the TA? Don't have enough problem child examples in the Softail lineup yet?
