Took it back and there it sits with HD telling dealer to fill it and return to customer. I told dealership I did not buy a bike that I cannot use, to be a test case for HD. Allow then to road test it for greater than 1/2 the total miles that are now on the bike. Told them to call HD and have them (HD), not the dealership call me or my attorney would be contacting them. Now we wait and see.
Unfortunately they can probably afford more lawyers than you can

Crickets......the main trumpeter is probably getting all suited up in his Evel Knievel suit so he can ride his Evel Bike to the local WAWA.

So if the transmission transfers 5 oz or more of fluid to the primary during a 5000 mile period then the MOCO would look at it.
BUT if it only transfers 4 0z in a 5000 mile period then that is NORMAL??? I wish I had my old bike back and the MOCO had my new one where the sun don't shine. I have been afraid they were going to do this to us. This is not the first time they have sold us this poorly designed crap and refused to make it good.

Kind of a semi-hijack, but does anyone have a copy of SB M1450, which covers the sumping and oil pump problems?

There are photos of one in another thread, but it's difficult to print.

Tia!

Can't be true, I was told it's Fake news, LOL... I hope they find a fix soon, I really do. The guy that HD bought the 17 CVO back from had rode Harleys for 70 years and now he don't know what he's going to do. He's in his 80's and can still out ride most of us, crazy!!!!

HD doesn't normally issue service or tech bulletins until some sort of fix is found. This leaves me to believe that they issued this because they are getting a lot of calls at the MoCo and are tired of dealing with them.

This is a TECH ARTICLE, there is a difference between that type of document and a TSB, TECH SERVICE BULLETIN. At this point it don't make a difference since there is no fix for the 17s and up.

I also agree that is sure sounds like the MOCO considers 4.9 ounces or less of transfer ini 5000 miles acceptable..............I SURE DON'T! Maybe an ounce or two at most IMHO!
