Default Ventilator air cleaner

Just a quick question for those of you who have a ventilator air box. Installed last week in my 17 sgs and after using street tuner bike runs great, really smooth and fast . I did however notice the air cleaner is hot to the touch and a little warm in my leg. Granted it was 90 with high humidity during my ride .
Does anyone else running the ventilator notice it can get very hot? I realize the stock cleaner had a plastic backing which didn't conduct heat but am a little surprised at the increase over stock. Thanks

Thanks. First run after going full stage one so was concerned bike running too hot. I suppose it was just 90 plus degrees and high humidity.

Your welcome. I don't like how hot it can get and how high at times the intake air temp can get.

I struggled with choosing the Ventilator or the Heavy Breather. After sitting on a couple bikes the HB won out because there was no contact with it. You'll feel it when using the brake pedal but it's negligible.

I never noticed my Ventilator to be very hot, but my leg doesn't really touch it & I haven't paid much attention to it either.

I have had twin cams and M8's with the ventilator and with the heavy breather. They can both get very warm.

Maybe it's all that hot oil circulating around inside the filter that Harley can't seem to fix.

I have never noticed it, but then again, have never touched it after a ride. And I have lowers, which should make it even more prevalent.

It may be really hot, just never noticed it.

K&N Filter, another way for the motor company to get an additional hundred bucks out of us, just like the siren you need to install to make the security system complete. You think with the price hikes of these bikes, they'd take care of the few things the seem to depend on us of buying, its really ridiculous..I've never noticed the heat, not sure if the K&N helps there also....

Stock Fat Boy Ventilator with K&N filter option...
