i tried to order them on surdyke, vin restricted

 

I just did..no issue. Boardtracker did ask for vin.

 

The whole thing about vin restricted parts is the dealership can't even order them with out a vin number and most times they have to send back the old damaged item on a vin restricted part.

 

Had the same issue with my Willie G ones from boardtracker...so I ordered from Surdyke..did the same on these...

 

I placed the order on Surdyke, then a few days later it was updated to "contact us with your vin number or we have to cancel the order"

Same thing happened to me..vin restricted..however I have seen them on ebay will have to keep a eye out..

 

If you provide a VIN, will that VIN be locked to the customer? Some HD dealers list VINs on their websites...

 

I had no trouble at all getting mine...maybe i got lucky.
Ive been meaning to call my dealer and see it i can get more, as others have asked me to check

First two weeks the 18 CVO's were out, they were not VIN restricted. It was a screw up, when HD realized this the part was changed to VIN restricted.

HD does not want people to be able to buy the parts to duplicate a CVO. As an owner of a couple CVO's I appreciate that.

 

You are correct, I called today to see if I could help. The parts manager let me know my order slipped through the cracks and informed me that they are now restricted.
