Default Stage 1 with Street Tuner

Installed a ventilator air cleaner to go with RCX slip ons. I used the street tuner and ran 4 smart tunes for the bike. All I can say to those of you who have heard bad things about the street tuner is that it works. I took a 3 hour ride today and can't believe how great my sgs runs. Smooth and powerful with instant throttle response. The pipes sound great and I averaged 47 mpg for the ride. After reading some of the forum reviews i was afraid to use the tuner but I'm a believer now. What a magnificent riding bike. Well worth the upgrade you will definitely notice the difference. Nothing wrong with stock but wow what a difference! Thanks.

How exactly do the smart tunes work with that tuner? Glad you like it.

i think the main problem people have with the Street Tuner is that it's still an EPA lean mixture no matter what you do .

For a "Stage 1" set-up the Street Tuner is all you'll ever need.

Tick: you just download the stage 1 which is street cannons and air box. Most slip ons are close to the cannons so it works. At that point you have the option to record so you hook the tuner to you handlebars and disconnect from the computer. You push the button on the tuner after engine is warm and ride st differt speeds and throttle positions until the tuner blinks very fast. Plug back into the computer and it saves the download. Repeat as many times as you like and then click program bike. There is a tutorial that guides you. I know the tuner has epa limitations but I can't imagine the bike running any better. Also keeps warranty in play. Thanks.

Thanks for the review. Glad to hear positive things as I'm wanting to keep my warranty intact as well.

I put 1500 miles on my RGU with SE air breather, Street Cannons, and just a stage 1 download. I have to say it ran ok, but not quite perfect. Then I did an auto tune, wow what a difference, it now runs great. Looking at the graphs, most of the changes were in the lower throttle area, which really improved the rideability. I should have done the auto tune sooner.
