Appreciate the info. I was looking at the advan black bags. They're quite a bit cheaper and someone on here said the quality was good and color match as well. I think in Laguna orange with the fender extender and graphics, they were 800.
I've heard good things about their stuff. I'd say go for it if you like the bag style.
I got my fender delivered today. I have a quick question. The instructions are pretty simple it basically says refer to the service manual. The manual states to make sure there is no paint where the fork meets the fender. The whole fender is painted and I don't really want to scrape paint off of a brand new fender. Did any of you do this or did you just bolt it on?
Go with what the Manual is telling you to do. If you don't, the paint could possibly crack and run out to another portion of the fender when you tighten the fender bolts and I'm sure that you don't want that to occur.
Thank you. I took pics of both fenders. The first is the factory fender. It has mounts that have paint removed but the new one is flat all the way across which I think would make it a guessing game scraping off paint which could show. Thoughts? I'm guessing the service manual is assuming you're reinstalling the factory fender. I'd love to hear from any of you that have installed one.
I test fit it. The bike is filthy since I got caught in the rain. 5 minutes to take the old one off and throw the new on on. I do like that you can see the entire wheel now.
I did not read the manual regarding the paint like you did. I bolted mine right up also, and had no problems. I did check for the torque settings and found that it recommends 16-20 ft/lbs. I tightened mine to the middle of the scale at 18 ft/lbs which is not that much.
Better pic after a wash and wax this afternoon. I got caught in rain for a 100 miles yesterday so was a good excuse to shine it up and get some wax on the new fender and the rest of the bike.
