Default Is top speed limited?

M8 stage III 114.
At 110 MPH seems to quit in either 5th or 6th gear. Seems like it has a lot more but just shuts down.
Is there some kind of top speed limiter?

Sure is with the HD Street Tuner.

IF you want it gone you will need to use a product like Mastertune that will remove it. Just keep the Street Tuner for warranty purposes and run Mastertune for off highway use in the USA

They arent speed limited, they are rev limited. Stock is 5500 I believe, most aftermarket tuners can take it to 6200

The Tech that put my Stage IV Kit in couldn't get the numbers out of it that he/I wanted. It was cutting out at 5000 RPM and around 114 MPH. He disconnected the Speed Sensor from the Tranny and was able to get the full 5500 RPM out of the motor to get a graph that looked more like what we expecting out of the new build. Of course, he couldn't read the Speedo with the sensor disconnected, but it definitely was faster as is apparent on the Dyno Chart. So, yeah....there is a speed limiter.

Thanks for the replies.
Harley did all the work so it is of course the harley tuner. Oh well, no money for another tuner now so 110 it is.
I'll have to update my pic sometime for that CVO below is gone.

There IS a speed limiter. It cuts out at 110 regardless of being in 5th or 6th gear. Since there are different gear ratios, the RPMs are different, yet it cuts out at the same speed. Therefore, there is a speed limiter.

We can start an oil type debate.
