OP; If you're looking to buy, waiting until '18's come out will give you (1) deals on '17 leftovers and/or (2) answers to your question (difference). IMO...unless you're itching to buy = wait.

My dealer said that the 17 SGS and RGS infotainment system will move down to the standard models and a new system in the specials. Also there will be more color options in the regular and only 4 in the special. Denim Black will only be in the regular. I wonder if that means this years special will be the regular next year and the specials will have something new going on. Maybe blacked out like the road king specials???

I didn't care about what changes may or or may not be coming in 2018. I decided I would rather be riding then waiting so I bought a 2017 SGS.

I hope your dealer is right!!!! HD infotainment looks antique and not in a good way in comparison to Indian's offering

Frankly, I suspect that dealer is also just speculating. I doubt there is another company that is more secretive about new model changes than Harley is. The last thing they want is to leak info out that would deliberately cause folks to buy the newest model when they are anxious to sell the current ones off the floor. I worked an a Harley Dealer after I retired. They only really get the new info at the Dealers Show when they are released. Some speculations work many are just total BS. Guess we will all see in a few weeks after the dealer show.

Well other than that we know colors will change the one improvement needed for the entertainment system is blue tooth support for head sets. however I do not see any reason other than greed why it cannot be done through a software update, I am not aware however if the antennae it does have is correct for that use
