the only time I really noticed that was when stopped at a light, otherwise out riding I really only caught it glared out once or twice. it really is not as bad as people make it out to be

.....if it helps
I'm on a Switchback and test road an M8 RGS and SGS (with Stage III) back to back a couple of months ago. Test ride was unaccompanied for about 5 miles on local roads and highway.
I didn't think they road all that different as far as handling. The stock handlebars made the biggest difference in control. I found the RGS bars more agreeable, but in either case, the bars would be changed out for something more personal choice driven. At highway speed (55mph - 100mph...yeah, that Stage III begged for a flogging), the stereo was easier to hear and the wind was blocked more on the SGS. I wasn't subject to cross winds or trucks coming from the opposite way. The RGS felt very "open" in comparison. Very subjective, but the SGS felt more confined, almost claustrophobic. From a light, the SGS seemed to be easier to control. At speed, the RGS felt a smidge easier to control. At a light or parking lot speeds, the RGS felt more top heavy.
As an aside, the SGS had about 1,500 miles on it and the suspension felt much more compliant and plush vs. the RGS which had very low miles on it. I'm not sure if someone took the time to futz with the suspension settings on the SGS, but for a stock HD, it was really good rear suspension. Conversely, the RGS felt jarring going over bumps.
Having said all of that, I like the Road King.

Someone must have already been playing with my shock setting. It was on 5 when I bought it. Had 10 miles on the bike, so maybe a knowledgeable test rider that knew to turn it up.
