Has anyone tried to have a rider backrest installed on the new CVO seat? It does not have the slot in it to accommodate the backrest? HD does not have one to fit.
Only one available I know of is from CVOBackrest. I have one and while not as good as the HD backrest, its doable. Had to bend mine to get the backrest pad just right.
Ordered the same one as above for wife's CVO that's the only one available or came across once on the forum member made his own.I had the same feelings that I've to bend the pad little forward since it's not adjustable and wife likes to set upright with good posture when she rides. Try cvobackrest.com it's fairly cheap when compare to any backrest on the market.
This is it, i bought the frame from Grass Hopper, i think this became the CVO backrest, and the pad from Broad Tracker, so it matches my seat.
Yep, started out under grasshopper name, then switched to CVOBackrest. I also bought the CVO pad, not a perfect match to the '17's, but not noticeable unless pointed out. Its a little uncomfortable as it has the bulge in the middle and is constantly forcing my back to twist to one side or the other. The generic pad thats available with the mount isnt a bad deal. Plain, if comfort is more important than looks.
I just purchased the same backrest for my 17 CVO Street Glide and the seat bolts are not long enough to complete the install. Did anyone have that issue?

Remove the plastic washers need to be tighten with adjustable pliers using something to protect the fasteners.
