To get the sound back I'm either changing pipes to CFR or adding a cam.

I'm at 1500 miles on my SE Cannons and it is music to my ears now. They got substantially louder than new but not unbearable. I may be off man out but I prefer my slipon only sound of the M8 compared to full system sound of the TC. The M8 had more of a muscle car tone compared to the potato potato sound of the TC.

Maybe have a listen to S&S MK45 slip ons.

Honestly though, stop trying to chase the sound of a shovel or Evo. You aren't going to get it.

I too have been trying new slipons, V&H 4.5 Raiders, TBR, and guess what did it for me?
SE Street cannons, they bark when getting on the throttle. No other changes and no decel pop just a nice purrrr when I engine brake or back off after a hard acceleration. I agree with Dixonk, they are music to my ears also.
My Heritage TC 103 has V&H pro pipe 2-1, RC high flow intake and FP3. This would be way loud for serious touring.
I've got my Raiders for sale also, chrome.

I don't think anyone one here has delusions of the Shovel or EVO sound. The bike runs fabulous, makes great power, seat of pants and dyno. I just want more sound, thats all. I was extremely disappointed with the sound levels after the header swap.

I got a big dose of reality when I saw an M8 with all of that sounding just like mine with only slip ons.
Jc, that was kinda my point, trying not to step on toes. This M8 group can be a little sensitive. I was in a similar situation in my Honda VTX days. The VTX 1300 had a crankshaft design and sounded like a Vtwin, The VTX 1800 had a single pin crankshaft design and you could not get it to sound like anything other then a Honda. Many a VTX 1800 owner chased that sound for thousands of dollars. The good sound may be elusive with the new M8.

Here's some proof in the pudding!

M8 107" juice up to a M8 120".

TORQUE COMING IN EARLY!

"IF" I had a M8 Motor, I'd be heading in this direction. But truth be told, my 2009 CVO is set up perfect!
