RECALL: 5/25/17 Oil Line Clamps on 2017 Touring Bikes
#62
After taking a short ride yesterday, I later saw plenty oil on the underside of the bike, and on the ground, cleaned it all up and started the engine, after it warmed up some, oil poured from the oil line connection at the case.
Replaced the spring clamp with a stainless screw clamp, problem solved.
Had previously planned to go to the dealer to get the recall checked today, just happened to start leaking yesterday, still going when the weather clears, they owe me a quart of oil, and a clamp.
WTH a spring clamp on a pressure oil line?

Just checked mine this morning & I don't have the crimp connectors, mines fitted with jubilee hose clips. I put my VIN number in the HD website & it says my bike needs checking at the dealer ?? I've just had the fan assisted oil cooler fitted during the 1K service so assume they just changed them, but it was before the date of the recall ??

Still, I do not like anything about this situation and mine is going on the lift first thing in the morning. I gotta see that check valve and dream up a better way. I do not like relying on a spring clamp if it is a simple bulge on the nipple. This is a "no fly" situation for me...

I work with a lot of these clamps in auto repair, I like them more than the screw type because they look neater and take up less space. However you can only use them once for the most part.
