Took it down to HD today and basically if it is crimped ( evenly ), tight, straight, and shows no evidence of leakage it's good to go.

I had it up on the Jack and told them it looked crimped, tight, straight and no leaks - but - no sir, you have to bring it in and we'd advise postponing any trip until you do.....so I went down in half a monsoon so they could look, wiggle and say "it's fine, you're good!"

LOL :-) sounds like exactly what I did - except I got soaked on my way home instead of my way in

I think I'm just going to buy the fan assisted oil cooler as it get's hot here in FL and I would love to disable my EITMS. And when I install it I'll just put proper wom/screw clamps on and call it a day. I can't stand any of my local dealers anymore.

VIN checked out ok on the website, visual looks like the pics a couple pages back, and called the dealer in AZ everything sounds good. I picked up my bike the weekend after the recall so I'm assuming/hoping it was looked at before it left the dealer.

Mine was on list. Had it checked today, took all of 5 mins. Nothing found wrong. Rode in, rode out. Spent $200 on parts though.

Had mine checked...15 minutes gave me enough time to add to my mods wish list, check out a few bikes but unbelievably left without spending a dime! Whew!

Stopped in to the dealer yesterday after work and had mine checked. 5 minutes later I was good to go according the tech. Took longer to get the paperwork.

That's the same thing that happened to me. It took less time to part with $200 than it did for them to check the clamps.
