Yeah I'm gonna call bullshit on someone twisting the nut off a K&N oil filter. I'm just not seeing how that's possible.

And if you're messing up your floor during a fluid change you're doing it wrong.
I had an issue once with the low profile oil pan and the oil wasn't filling so fast as it was running over the sides. I think it wasn't vented out enough.

I am also aware that I can dump oil at Walmart or autozone. Just an extra step for me. Again if you don't have a great dealer I can see doing it yourself. I have a great dealer that doesn't cost much my my time ROI is fine with letting them go through it.

I install accessories and parts though. Just hate messing with fluids.

Default 1000 Mile Service

I changed the fluids and the dealer did the rest for $100/Hr for a dealer charge of $200. The belt tension needed adjusting and it looks like everything else checked out ok. It was worth having the dealer do this service especially since I had a stage III kit and an exhaust system installed by the same dealer/mechanic. I'm happy with the results and I trust the dealership and the mechanic.

I plan on switching to Amsoil already which my dealer does stock.

The big question is spend the 450.00 at the dealer for the "oil change" or do it at home for 97.00?

I know they are "checking" nuts and bolts but come on is it really worth 450.00?
Hmmm... I'm on my third bike, all of them new Harleys and I have yet to have to pay for my first service. Every dealer I've gone to to purchase a bike includes the first service free of charge as well as a year's membership to the Harley Owners Group. I believe I would press my dealer for the free service and if he did not want to cooperate I'd find another dealer. Just saying.
