I do know this, it is against the law to vent any oil reservoir to the atmosphere according to our friends at the EPA. I wonder what kind of pressure is on the transmission at high RPM's. But then how does the pressure and oil carry over to the primary. Maybe it recirculates back to the transmission. Steve, is the oil level lower in the primary than the tranny, under normal conditions? If it is, that has to be the low spot on the bike....
The primary vents to the tranny, not the motor.. Motor vents to the AC.

First off, nowhere did I talk about the crankcase. I've only talked about the Primary and Transmission. So lets just stick with the Primary and Transmission and not try and confuse the issue more than it already is. Each has an oil level that is in its own compartment and lower than the pushrod and mainshaft height. What kind of pressure is in one compartment should be in the other, as the hole in the mainshaft connects them both together. The vent that is atop the transmission should allow any pressure out there, unless it is to great of flow. I tested with the oil fill removed so that adds a new ~3/4" opening and it made no difference.

No difference? Wow. This IS getting ugly. 'Preciate all you're doing to figure this one out, Mr. Cole.

Between you and HD a solution won't be long in coming, hopefully.

The article is not accurate. The crankcase vents to the air filter. The breather valves in the heads are new but it still vents to the air filter the same way the Evos & TCs did.

[QUOTE=Max Headflow;

Look at the chrome cover on the top of the tranny.[/QUOTE]

I don't have a chrome trans cover on my M8 and I haven't noticed any M8's that have one,maybe a CVO,not sure.

The transmission cover on my 2017 RGU is Chrome. It came from the factory that way. It is not a CVO.
