LEMON LAW, does it apply to motorcycles? ... Snip...

I know that North Dakota's Lemon Law does not apply to Motorcycles, so I would imagine some other states exclude them as well. I bought my bike in Bismarck, and when the motor went out last fall due to the piston oiler jet backing off at 333 miles, I checked into it.

Lemon Law

WHAT IS A LEMON?
A lemon is a new motor vehicle that has one or more problems, covered by the warranty, that substantially impair the use, value or safety of that vehicle. The problems must occur within the first year or first 18,000 miles, whichever comes first.

The Lemon Law applies to passenger cars, motorcycles and other noncommercial motor vehicles, which are designed to carry no more than a one-ton load and are used exclusively for personal use.

From Ohio Attorney General office......

Maybe in your state as well.......

500 miles into the UV trace test. I have not push a bike this hard in a long time on a public road. One thing is Clear they do not all do it.
Transmission and Primary are at the same levels and no migration of the UV trace .
At this point we need to narrow down the bikes that have reported the issue.
By collecting as much information as we can maybe we can figure it out.
Is it faulty assembly work, some defective parts supplied seals, bearing case gaskets.
I am not stopping the test. Just from all the other reports it should have showed up by now. In the 500 miles I did not include a 50 mile ride to ensure the UV trace was well mixed in the transmission. To ensure My measurements and fluid levels were accurate I let the bike cool to air temp before checking levels.
As I said before Mine is a 08/16 manufacture
Transmission has had Spectro 6 speed syn it from 1000 mile service
Primary 20/50 M1
Engine 20/50 M1
IMO Brand and type Lube is meaningless. The ones I choose to use have nothing to do with any claim they are better.
If you have any Ideas related to how it should be tested I will listen.

based on your testing strategy, results and validation I'd conclude you got a 'good one' and cease concern and commence riding worry free....suppose it's possibly premature to declare victory but so far since you came thru 100% without issue here ....nice work and congrats..also bodes well for inspiring confidence for others..now we can await Steve's bearing discovery and tests on the dyno and real World riding to see if that isolates and identifies the problem..he's gotta' be close to figuring this thing out I suspect

I'm with smitty - they dont all do it. I've been flogging mine and mybtransmission oil is still just above full. To my mind, I t must be luck of the build with components.

My build date - 10/16.

if there is a service bulletin, why would it not be public and why would it be a secret? Dealers around here have never heard of such a service bulletin , ask your dealer to show it to you, that should be easy enough.

The service bulletin is M1450, but I haven't seen it yet.
