There is not a statement about there being two different bearings. All the pages I post are from the 17 manual.

You really cant over compress the o ring since its a positive stop plug with the shoulder on it. This was a case of allowing the o-ring to drop down out of the groove it lives in.After reassembling its been fine.

Well if after it makes contact you put the hurt to it it will mess up the gasket. This is a Harley and some people think everything needs to get cranked down real tight. It does not need to be all that tight to prevent leaking.

Some of you should be receiving compensation from MoCo!

I have been checking the tranny fluid level before every ride. The engine is at 2,400 miles. So far I have not seen an indication of any fluid loss.

Build date: March 2017

Thank you!!

My buddy had to order the new bearing from HD factory, it's not a stocking part number for them. The early bearing is, go figure. Less than 20 bucks for it so he has order a few for stock for them as well as one for me. Now its wait until HD ships them.

Steve, are you saying that your transmissions have two of the older bearings?

When checking the transmission on a M8, does it have to be hot and on the jiffy stand or can it be cold?
