who's been having to add transmission fluid?

You know what? Screw them. If they don't want to own up to this crap and tell some story that some migration is normal than I consider them to be unreasonable. I will install a fix. If they try to void my warranty I will raise holy hell.
It's very weak sauce they are bringing though. Very weak.

I was at Hideout in Joplin a couple days ago talking to service. He said they are in touch with MoCo about migration, but have no solution yet.
I suggested he check out yours and gave him information to look you up on the forum.
He appeared interested.
Good work, BTW.
I will keep monitoring mine, but I suspect at this point, I don't have much to worry about. I have a bunch of miles planned yet this year--fingers crossed.

I just had my independent do the 5K service on my 2018 Road King SE Stage 3 with 4400 miles. Had the service done a bit early since I leave on a
4500 mile round trip to Colorado on Thursday.
He found that the transmission oil level went down to 16 oz. of oil in the 3400 miles ridden since the 1K service. If I find that the transmission oil is low while on the trip,
do I just top it off, or do I need to drain the excess from the Primary as well? What a PITA! I'll for sure need to address this after the trip.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, I'm using the same fluid in both. Thank you very much for your fast response!

Had my 2017 Limited into the dealer after a 700 mile ride, primary was 13 ounces over, primary had a total of 45 ounces in it and transmission had only 19 ounces. The contacted Tech Services and they are sending a deflector kit out to be installed. We'll see what happens after that.
2017 Limited, 5000 miles.

abstract question perhaps..but the 'self resolving' phenomenon is perplexing..mine after 2 years and 24,000 miles has become almost nil..is it possible over time, miles, heat, etc. things get 'gummed up' seal expanding, etc. that explain why it improved instead of worsening?
