i don’t know which is accurate and don’t know how much oil 1/2 of the ‘X’ area represents, but there is a notable difference between measuring techniques.
the tech spec difference is 'a splash'

Anyone overfill the trans to delay the time to refill?

I over fill mine and it has all but stopped transferring. Xtra 2 oz. or so and it seems to slow way down. I haven't had to add any oil or drain any out of the POS in the last 800 miles or so. Checked it yesterday morning before I put 130 miles on it for a work commute ride. Will check it before I ride again. Won't ride this morning,,, Okie storms rolling through.

When I was hell bent to track and document the amount of transfer that was happening on my 1st RK with a lot of draining and measuring, measuring and draining, I determined the from the line above the "X" to the line below, was about 4 Oz. So, I would guess the 1/2 an "X" is about 2 Oz.

YMMV (Where the 1st M stands for measurement, lol)

By George Psyshack, you may be on to something! You may have found the "Real Fix"! Seriously though, a few weeks back the wife and I were headed out for a 1000 mile ride out to and around the CA coast so I topped off the Tranny a little extra to the bottom of the "F". At this point, I have experienced the least amount of transfer I have ever between both bikes....... This newer 2nd RK has had no "Fixes" done to it yet. It's now into the "A" with about 2700 miles on it. I'm a gonna run it to the bottom of the stick and see what mileage I'm at then. Compared to 14 Oz. in 100 miles on the 1st bike, this is ALMOST tolerable.

I was waiting for someone else to state they did the same before I jumped in...

So yeah, I did the same thing and it's been close to 4000 miles with no transfer that I can detect. I figure the extra fluid somehow changes how the fluid lands on the pushrod. Or something. Regardless... seems to work.

I'm still going to do the CVO pushrod mod and maybe try out the 2016 actuator. I bet that will reduce the lever effort and provide a larger friction zone.

I wanted to echo the same. Overfill slowed to stopped my transfer. My last tracking was interrupted by having the dealership install the little black grommet in the kit they gave out that they won't release publicly easily.

Plus the overflll uses the full quart, so it's a win.. lol, I think..

LP, let us know on CVO pushrod results.

I had the deflector kit installed last tuesday, noticed the trans was ABOVE the F mark from the dealer. Only have about 300 miles on it, so far it appears to be holding it's level. Oil checked ambient temp on the sidestand.......

Eagle Over and Out!

If throwing in a full quart helps slow transfer then that's interesting. Keep testing and maybe it'll help others with the problem. Not sure why but whatever works.

Bonus: It gives you something to do with the 4 ounces left over! I hope this is the answer.
