Probably cost an extra $ or two.

Thanks, but I will wait to see how this warranty repair works out when completed.

The latest attempt is the new plastic device that slips over the pushrod itself and plugs the pushrod tube (I guess).
Just installed the CVO parts on mine today. Taking the old one out is easy, derby cover off and one c-clamp then it comes out. You have to take the clutch actuator off to insert the CVO end part as it doesn't fit thru the channel form the primary to the actuator. I was surprised at the amount of Xmsn oil between the actuator rubber gasket and the side cover. Damn engineers didn't design the Xmsn cosmetic cover so you could just take it off. You have to loosen the exhaust headers and the other parts that hold the muffler to get enough room to pull the cover off. After that it is a breeze and no gaskets needed. Now to put some miles on her as i took pictures of primary level and Xmsn oil level on the dipstick. Mine is not as bad as others, about 3-4 ounces between 5,000 mile oil changes. Thanks to Crewchief25 as he answered some of my install questions.

I agree that's what the manual says. My HD service guys say check it upright. Don't ask me who's right....I have no idea. They checked it and said it is ok and when I checked it on the jiffy stand.....nada!!

edit: 2018 FLHCS btw

i find the difference between checking upright or on the side stand to be negligible, maybe a mm on the stick.

You need to tell your service guy that he needs to read a service manual. The manual says the side stand for transmission level checks since at least 2009. I think the five speed models did have to be checked upright. On my M8 it doesn't seem to make any difference.

I agree....but it wouldn't be the first time the printed word was in error!! They could help us by making the stick a little easier to read.

Actually, checked my FLHCS both ways:

upright it showed at ‘F’

on jiffy stand halfway between ‘A’ and ‘F’

i don’t know which is accurate and don’t know how much oil 1/2 of the ‘X’ area represents, but there is a notable difference between measuring techniques.
