I just got off the phone with the dealer I purchased the bike from and the SM is going to look into it for me also. He is also going to look into the latest oil pump revisions and see what it will take to get the newest one of those in my hands if possible...
Well, there are none of these kits in Australia at the moment, the part number didn’t come up on the Brisbane dealer’s screen. They looked into the USA parts area, and confirmed it would only be ordered/sold if my bike had the transfer issue, which it doesn’t.

So there you go - we can’t buy em either.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but, aren't the 2016's susceptible to the same transfer problem of the 17's and 18's?

Yes the 14' 16 have a fix . My 16 was around 4 oz between oil changes.

My 16 had a gas cap issue, a leaky rear shock, and a run-a-way clutch...all of which was corrected under warranty. Thankfully, I haven’t experienced the transfer issue.

Hopefully Harley will come up with a fix. They did on the Rushmore models, I imagine they will on the M8's.

Do we know definitively that the kits eliminate the problem?

As previous posts have suggested, no. It has slowed it down some.

Every time I pull the stick to check the fluid I wonder to myself "what were they thinking with that shiny stick".
Hey, I have wondered why they do certain things for decades. Or, to put a finer point on it "why do they continue to do certain things for decades".

I got a call from the dealer I bought my bike from and they were able to get one shipped to them for me. It cost me a whopping $13.42. SM had to jump through some hoops to get HD to ship him one. His HD contact verified no powertrain warranty on my bike. So no kit for my King. SM had to explain it to HD dude at a 3rd grade level. We know there is no warranty on the bike. The cust. bike is transferring and he wants to BUY a kit and give it a try before more extreme measures are applied. WE joked about how one must be of a very low IQ to qualify to work for HD now days. Dealer is 100 miles away so when I go get the kit I will have them put a new American Elite rear tire on it also. Pick up my kit and install it myself.

I don't agree with your assessment of the qualifications of an HD employee, and that's ok, I don't have to. BUT..... with that being said, I hope the new fangled "Flinger" helps your situation and can't wait for your feed back on it........
