And if it is sealed to the mainshaft, then I agree, venting could be an issue.

Wish I could see what it looks like inside the trans side cover
If venting did become an issue, couldn't a tiny vent hole be drilled somewhere above the shaft? Still too many unknowns at this point I guess.
This looks something akin to a labyrinth seal.

Just changed the fluids in my primary and trans because the fluid wasn't even showing on the stick of my trans. My primary had 40 ounces of fluid in it and the trans had 22 ounces. I had not added any fluid since my last change 4,200 miles ago. I'm sure had I added the primary would have had much more than 8 extra ounces. I put Amsoil 20w50 in the trans and primary since they are migrating at least it will be the same fluid. I purchased my 2017 Ultra Limited in September 2016 so it's been doing it for a while now unchecked on my behalf.

I complained to my dealer that the trans fluid wasn't even on the dipstick when they had it fixing an oil sensor blow out that caused me to loose all of my oil a few months back and left me stranded out of town. The tech told me the oil was where it was suppose to be. It wasn't even showing on the stick but the dealer said it was where it was suppose to be. Oh well, I'm going in for new grips Wednesday, I think I will discuss having the 2014 CVO clutch rod fix done. I will pay for it out of my pocket to get it fixed unless he offers to comp the labor which I'm sure he won't.

Well apparently yours does do it, but not as bad as some.

They all do it under certain conditions, some are worst than others.

Later down the road, these early M8 bikes will have a low resale value.

And how did you determine that?

That's what worries me, the resale/trade in value. And as far as I know it seems like people buying bikes with later build dates are still having the issue.

What a stupid comment.

Mine transfers 7ozs in 250 miles.
What am I supposed to do, drain the primary in a motel parking lot and pour it back into the trans? Repeat...just Repeat...............

Look at my post “The Fix Is In”. The field testing is not done, but everything looks promising.
