So they will downplay it as long as possible to mitigate damage control. i mean seriously, how hard can this be for the development and engineering teams to isolate and identify the cause. It's not like there's a 100 possibilities. Since they have already come forth saying some transfer is normal then that would imply they should know where and why it's happening right? unless of course they are FOS and just trying to cover it up
If this were true then it will show up on the new bikes. If they have a fix, wouldnt it make sense to put it on all new bikes going forward? To do that, and not tell the faithful that they have a fix and not recall all the bikes already made opens them up to huge litigation. No, I dont believe they are any closer on a fix now than they were last year......... If they do have a fix and it can be proven that they do and didnt tell anyone........... oh my.

who the Hell knows anymore, their latest communication revealed "some fluid transfer is normal"..bs cop out but that's the position they are taking..obviously the primaries and transmissions aren't too temperamental to fluid level fluctuations, affecting performance or falling apart enough based on warranty claims/trending..the sever examples we read here have to be the extreme exceptions or these bikes would be destroyed in big numbers from the folks that own them but never bother to check the dipstick

Good point. Maybe if they made the trans and primary "common", voila..... no more transfer!

That is definitely different in size & shape than the original black one, hopefully it works. I say that for those with the problem, my 17 RG has only transferred 2-3 oz in a little over 18K.

I'm one of the lucky ones, it's never transferred much & hasn't had anything done to it, so they all don't do it.

Hard to tell from that quick video how the "slinger" interfaces to the mainshaft.

If it's not a tight fit/seal to the mainshaft then venting should not be an issue, but on the other hand I don't see how it could work unless it is sealed to the mainshaft.

And if it is sealed to the mainshaft, then I agree, venting could be an issue.

Wish I could see what it looks like inside the trans side cover
