I was at the dealer today to find out the delivery of the Street Glide that I ordered and asked him about both the oil pump and transmission oil migrating problem. This is what he said both issues have been addressed the latest's revision to the oil pump and the piston oilers which were loose causing the sumping, which I guess the factory would make sure this was addressed as well. The transmission he said was a shaft that had ridges or something to that effect. I'm not a mechanic so I'm not sure what he was talking about. Maybe he told me this to ease my worry's about the new bike coming, but he definitely new about the problems and he didn't try to downplay them at all but did assure me that the problems have been fixed.

I'm curious to know the build dates of bikes that have been "fixed" and hope that what he is saying has some merit.

I just went and looked, I have a 9/17 build.

That part I do not know I do know that mine will have a Jan/18 build so hopefully that's a late enough build to have the problems fixed.

They are not going to fix the problem as long as people continue to buy the product. Chances are your bike won't be one of the ones, but you are taking a chance

Well, I havent chimed in with anything on the forums for a while, so..... Happy New Year all. This is still an issue? My build date is 12/16, I bought my bike in June of 17. I have 3500 miles and no problems, In fact Im getting ready to spend some cash on mine in upgrades. I dont worry about all of this, I used to but I feel as though it is a wasted emotion at least I think it is. Until something happens, no sense in worrying about it.

And besides, a few stiff ones and it doesn't seem like that big a deal anyway!

There is a whole thread on build dates vs problems.

Only 3500 miles? You need more wind!

It’s snowing out, or I would. Bike is in storage at the dealer.

Lmao, yeah sure. What are you going to do, worry about something that may not happen? If it does, it does...... I’ll deal with it then. Until then, ride the dang thing.
