I agree. WTH is HD MOCO thinking. Installing this on Ohio bikes in the WINTER!! Take this proposed solution out to all the problem bikes in warm-weather states that have year round riding weather. Or is this already being done and we are not aware of it?

regards,[/QUOTE]

This may be what my West Coast Tech is going to do on my bike tomorrow while he's here to look deeper into my transfer problem. I'm not sure exactly what he'll be doing while he's here yet but I'll know more in a few days. We'll see........ And I ride the snot out of my bikes so I'll be testing this, or whatever the next miracle fix is, as hard as I can.

I've made a few of those in various shapes, none of them solved the problem but some did slow the problem. One issue that I found was the ID of the shaft isn't controlled well enough to get a proper press fit and that there is only a thin section you can get between the pushrod and the bore. The shaft bores seem to run 0.380 - 0.386" with taper and the pushrods are about 0.312" with taper as well. So that only leaves you with about 0.030" material thickness left to try and press in as you must provide some clearance between the pushrod and the plastic part.

Hope it works for you in the spring when you get to ride again.

This new part appears like it "might" work. I think it would depend a lot on how pliable it is if it is supposed to slow down the flow of fluids around the outside diameter of the shaft. At least this a promising start.
Do you suppose that they generated this new mystery part in house?
Maybe they 3-D printed it.

Mike said in an earlier post....."This is per the MOCO and it’s called a “slinger” by them. No part number. Myself and 8 others so far are the test mules as far as I know."

So it appears that maybe 8 other bikes have had this installed, agree it should be in areas that riders can ride and test.........

On another note, I spoke with Mike and he was not able to tell if the "Slinger" was metal or plastic or a rubber seal. Maybe Motojockey can find out if they do the same to his cycle. I will ask the dealer that did Mikes bike this saturday when I discuss my own transfer issue.....

They should give this to Steve Cole, he lives in SoCal and is able to reproduce the problem in like 20 minutes AND he owns one of the affected bikes.

Does anyone from the MoCo even read these threads? You would think they would have some minion sitting in a cubicle taking note of all the valuable ideas. info and thoughts. Here you have a large bucket of probably the most loyal consumers of their product, who likewise are consumed trying to saturate themselves with ideas how to better the line-up.

HD do read the posts but developing an idea from someone without direct recognition is an international mine field. Don’t think solving the problem for HD would satisfy the person with the idea. It can bring whole production lines to a halt just because of an action by a clever lawyer.
Also if you look carefully at the part, magnifying it and enhancing it you will see it has all the marks and characteristics of a metal part. My guess it’s some kind of bush, however you are only seeing part of it, I think there’s probably another section behind. What ever it is let’s hope it works and it gets rolled out ASAP

I have this piece in my bike recently. Return trip of 80 Km: nothing to report. I'll tell you later if it's OK.

LMAO, Webb, this guy is still messing with you? When does it end?

Is the tranny fluid migration fixed?

who knows, non owners opinions mean nothing to me..love my bike! my trans fluid is so minor it's inconsequential...16000 miles of epic trips this year of pure enjoyment with a smile on my face i never had before

like I said, ride more and read less about all the doom and gloom..it would be a shame to spend time riding and enjoying your bike at the same time thinking about all the negative comments from people that don't own one and just regurgitate what they read..fools
