plus, why pay to put synthetic in all 3 holes? esp if it is just pouring out the other side

remember how older high mileage cars would LEAK synthetic if you switched, but not leak Dino oil, because it is "bigger"? could using synthetic be part of the problem? what comes in the tranny from the factory?
didn't someone say using the Formula+ makes it stop transferring oil?

FWIW, pull the dip stick, and lay it on a napkin/rag that is clean, and the dampness from the oil should show on the rag, then compare the rag to the marks on the dip stick.
Thank you sir. Been riding for 30 years but this is my first Harley. I actually purchased two M8's ... A RGU and RGS. Not used to three different oil holes lol

Isn’t the police in the US driving touring models? If so, somebody should tell them to check the transmissions on the M8 models in order to make sure, that hunting criminals or leading a convoy doesn’t end up in funny transmission noises or a brake down....

Oh I’m sure we’re not done with this one or a few of the others on the same subject. Just nothing new for a few days.

lots of bikes parked for the winter. Mine went in for the 5000 mile service 2 weeks ago. I complained again about the trans level. To my surprise they actually had a diagnostic tree to determine if my bike was an issue. Imagine my surprise when they called and said they were keeping the bike to do the spacer/seal. I got the bike back and the trans is well above the full mark. Only have about 200 miles on it since but I haven't seen the level change yet

I pulled out 9 oz. out of the primary just today for the 5th time since May, 2017. I always know it is time to suck some out when it gets hard to shift or find neutral. I can not imagine this transmission lasting 50,000 miles. After 24 months they will completely deny any warranty repairs for these screwed up machines. I can see the handwriting on the wall...because I have seen them do it before.
This is my last Harley. I will ride a kids scooter from Toys Are Us before I buy another Harley from these bastards.

That's a shame every thing else about the M8 i liked but the oil transfer i couldn't handle it flew mad and traded it off.

IMHO, I wish this thread would die due to no new owners having issues. Don't think I would ever want to see other owners having problems with their bikes. I understand you are a disgruntled former M8 owner that traded yours off, I guess misery loves company. This thread doesn't need to keep going, Harley needs to fix their issues for those having problems. So far, I have been fortunate, but I have been riding ALOT LESS, due to working out of town. The aftermarket will probably find a fix before harley will and that is a shame.
