Nowadays it's probably against the "dealer/factory" contract to do that stuff we did back then. But your 100% right on how easy it would be.

Looks like my bike now wants to bother me and starts with the transmission oil xfer.
Can anyone tell me what's the amount between "A"dd and "F"ull seen on the dipstick?

Thanks in advance.
Have your riding or fluid checking habits changed in those 3K miles? Just curious what could happen to all the sudden start to transfer.

My riding conditions and fluid checking habits didn't change.

At 1000 mls the service was done.
After the service the level was on the top of the X. Later I checked the level approx. every 250 - 300 miles.
After the last check at 2.500 mls (level was down from the top of the X to the middle of the X.
Yesterday at 3.000 mls I checked the level again. Now it's on the top of the "A".
The xfer seems very slow, but measureable.

All checkes were done at cold engine.

Yeah just a couple ounces.. measure 2 oz pour & check. Since you're watching it, you want to be precise.

The ONLY change to the spacer is it has a chamfer added now to aid in passing thru the seal without damaging it? Good gawd...that's a 10 second fix on a lathe if so.

So if the factory worker was wasn't careful during assembly then the seal could be damaged.

You have to wonder how many of these bikes were affected as only a fraction of us know about it. Mainly those of us that maintain our own bikes.

I would think "the factory worker" in that case was a robot
