mine is October 2016.

I just bought 2 bottles of Formula+ to swap out the primary and trans fluids after 500 miles on my M8. I believe that a few ounces of fluid have switched from the trans to the primary, so I am going to take pix of where the fluid levels are after i put in the new (both level and on jiffy) and then check them after each successive 100 miles until the 1k service.

I do push my motor above 4k rpm occasionally for short periods, so I will just keep doing that and see what happens.

If you're in the break-in period, you should be careful keeping your RPMs under 4k. If you've got your own method of breaking-in the engine, I understand - just wanting to educate people on what the manual says if they don't know.

Negative, 500 Sir. Page 136 of your owners manual. What was that about educating people?

Getting ready for week trip end of month and going to change fluids. Currently has SYN 3 thru out and was considering using the Sprectra 6 speed tranny fluid. Is this oil safe to use if by chance there is some fluid transfer into the primary?

Oh damn... I confused that with the gaping 1000 mile service... I stand corrected.

The viscosity of The Spectro 6 six transmission lube and a 20/50 engine oil are not much different. They use a different system to measure them and it comes out nearly the same. So that would not be a real issue. The Spectro is a GL5 lube that means it is loaded with additive packages. That far exceed any requirements of the HD gear box.
I have used it for some time in several bikes with no issues. It has not migrated from the Transmission to Primary in my M8 yet. If it did I would not be to concerned. It is something that would show up in plenty of time to deal with it.
I am keeping an eye on mine. The first time it does migrate if it does HD will be Dealing with it under warranty.

so, in regards to the 1000k mile gape service, cant we just do it ourselves, or will this cause warranty issues with the MOCO?
