Default Renewed Appreciation For The King

At the dealership this weekend, and for nothing more than to kill some time, I test rode a few bikes. Had my first ride on a Breakout and was surprised how much I hated it. Having ridden the Road King since January, jumping back on a 103", even though a high output, felt like riding my Suzuki DR650. I didn't realize how strong the M8 was until now. In addition, the seating position of the Breakout was atrocious, and the ground clearance when in turns was so minimal that I almost kicked up the rear end when the peg dug into the asphalt.

The other bike bike I rode was a Street Bob. Same story on the motor, but aside from the mid controls causing cramps in my hips, I actually liked it. Mostly because it felt
light. It's too bad I can't put the King on a diet. Sooner rather than later I'm going to pick up a 2nd bike for around town, stop light jungle commuting.

No comparisons between a twinkie based bike and the M8's as you've found out , swore I'd never own a fat bike but the 17 Road King made a liar out me and loving every minute of it.

PS 75% of my riding is in town commuting, you do get used to it quickly.

My M8 King gives me what I call 'the 100 mile grin'.

Loving my RKS.... My simple 9 mile ride to work this morning ended up being 27 miles long. Country roads, highway, or downtown, this bike is so easy to maneuver.

Have ridden Harleys years past and was not impressed. Just test road this new Road king and I am super impressed. And it was the whole bike, the ride, the way it handled, not mention it ran good too.

Yeah, the new RK is the best bike I've ever owned. Great low end tq, and a breeze to ride around town. Not to mention the touring capability. My poor Dyna is collecting a lot of dust these days.

I traded in My Street Bob on the RK. Night and day difference for sure.

Yeah I sold my 95" stage 4 Dyna Lowrider because the M8 RK handles and performs better also much smoother ride and comfort. Great torque off throttle all the way up to red line she pulls hard. Fun ride and the best Harley I've owned four Harleys.

BTW my RK is still stock! Those who know me that is saying something.
