Default 2017 CVO Limited

Just got back from the MoCo factory test ride party at our local dealer...

The one and only ride I took was on the 2017 M8 CVO Limited. Had the hots to check them out ever since they came out. REALLY wanted to direct compare against my stock 2014 FLHTK

1.) What a beautiful machine, everything you want or need all on one bike.

2.) The frigg'n 114 pulls like a freight train

3.) The suspension was a small bit better in the back and NO better (IMO) in the front than my Progressive Monotubes.

Other than that...it put out the fire under my *** to take a bath in blood on my 2014 and drop probably another $25k to get on a new CVO. I have a few add-ons on my stocker, got it the way I really like it and I wouldn't make the trade after the test ride.

Whew! What a relief! I just saved myself a ton of money. I'll just wait until the CVO has a 120!

I rode one in Daytona and neither me or the wife got that WOW feeling we were expecting. The one thing I cannot get past may seem stupid to some but the strip on the front fender and the way is carries over to the lowers just looks weird and not well thought out.

I think the lack of WOW can also be blamed on the Rushmore 103 being so good. While riding home, I couldn't stop thing of the CVO 114 power and the fact I was on a poor little O'l 103 FLHTK, climbing a steep grade at 6000', with a 20 MPH head wind at only 85 mph with throttle to spare...WTF more can I ask for??? Fancy paint and more chrome for $25k...NAW...I'm good.

your bike and $25K...whew! good job not succumbing to that...be hard to enjoy the new bike with that kind of cash outlay

If you are happy with what you have, then yeah...the M8 is not worth $25K to upgrade. But, if you were in the market for a new bike, then that's a different story.

Can't tell from the internet if you're being sarcastic but if not, Ya It would be hard to enjoy..

TriG, You are absolutely correct as well.

I don't want anyone to get this wrong...

The 2017 CVO Limited is AMAZING
I BELIEVE you also get what you pay for (mostly) buying a CVO
If I had a pre Rushmore ride I would be all over the new CVO Limited BUT
owning a Rushmore, the cost difference to change just is not rational.

Both are nice, VERY nice. I personally cannot justify loosing my *** on a very good Rush (probably only getting $15k) to jump out of my *** for an amazing CVO to the tune of $40k+.

NO BASHING was intended...just an observation of my situation.

Congrats to ALL who own M8's!!!

Ha .. It's like cherry pie your lady made. It's absolutely delicious, so your only plan when the friends stop by eyeing up the pie, is to tell them it's awful.. That way only you can enjoy the cherry pie.

I take no offense on the critical of CVO owners, and I do not think you were plongson.. There are plenty more than me that can afford a CVO. Our decision over time has brought us to a CVO. I've had and still a lot of bikes over the years, my CVO's have been my cherry pie.
