Default Pipe gutting

Has anyone tried to gut the stock pipes yet? Gutted my 03 Fatboy with a 3" hole saw and was a PITA but worked well for years. Wondering if its the same procedure. Looking at the ends it looks as if it may not be as difficult as older models. Completely understand warranty issues, any feedback is appreciated.

Try straight through muffs like the Cannons. Then if you want more sound, remove the cat, or much better yet, replace the cat head pipe with a 2-1-2 catless headpipe it will be a better improvement.
Gutting cats increase sound but very little power increase below 5000 rpm unless you replace the OEM cat pipe with a properly designed 2-1-2.
Your bike, your money, and your expectations.

Default Cat Gut

There is a nearby dealership that will cut open your head pipe and remove the cat, then weld it back together. Rumor has it the dyno result are better than V&H power duals. It is also a cheap mod to do.

It's a pretty simple process for the CVO OEM mufflers but I'm not sure if it's the same for 107s??? If you take the muffler caps off and see two spot welds holding the baffle in place, all you need to do is take a Dremmel with a disk blade and carefully cut through the two spot welds, then pull the baffle out. Again, a pretty easy project with the CVO OEM mufflers but not sure if the non-CVO baffles are the same. Here is a video showing how to remove the CVO baffles. I used it to gut my OEM mufflers and replace them with Fullsac CVO power cores. Hope this helps.

I found the second video to be a lot more helpful.
