Personally, I change the fluid whenever I change pads.

I think that’d be overkill for me. I just changed the fluid a year ago (2 year interval) and check it for water content every 5k miles (couple times a year). My pads don’t need changed right now (24k miles), they still have plenty of material left, I just want something different. The rear squeaks really bad and the front clunk damn near every time I brake. And they are noisy.

I change the fluid with the old pads. That way, spillage doesn't ruin the new ones.

My rear is noisy. The clunk in the front is just the pad shifting. If you hold the brake and try to roll back, then hit the brake going forward, the pads move forward and clunk. Just nature of the beast. Your car does it too, you just don't hear it.

The bars are finally complete with the arrival of my mirrors. The mirrors have plenty of room to clear the tank and plenty of visibility to both the side and back.

LMAO yeah the wrong oil too. If the longer filter is available when I do the service I'll get it. ...maybe

I recently had an email exchange with a tech from Feuling about an issue with one of their products which was resolved. While trying to diagnose a problem through email his statement about oil filters was "We recommend either Harley-Davidson or K&N brand oil filters." This was before the longer Harley filter was announced but I found his comment interesting and reassuring because I have been using HD filters for years.

I've read a bit about HD filters and those that dissect them have plenty of positives to state. Seems like they're made by Fram (formerly Champion Labs prior to the merger in 2013), and are equivalent to Fram's PH6022. I was contemplating buying a branded oil filter but after seeing/reading what I did today, I'm happy to stick with the HD private label filter.

HD filters are made by FRAM? F-that. They used cardboard for their endcaps. They're junk. Personally, I like Wix filters.
