Looks like the head gasket let loose. Becoming common for some reason. Not good.

Looks just like mine did last week... my rear head gasket burnt out and let oil out. I’m fairly close to ya, pm me if you need help. I just replaced both my head and base gaskets. If you have ESP, please replace the stock style gaskets with Cometic MLS.

Thanks for the offer. I will see what the First Extended ESP has to say about it first. If the ESP finds some reason not to cover it, I'll most likely do it myself. Thanks for the Cometic reminder!

RK14SGS and I are just up the street (if you're in GA). If your ESP doesn't cover it, give us a call.

Just got a call back from Timms HD of Augusta and First Extended Service Corp. has approved the $1,600 replacement of the rear cylinder head gasket! Sucks that it only lasted 19,696 miles. I may want to add the oil cooler fan as they cite overheating as the usual cause...

Factory HD warranty paid out $0 on (0) claims in (2) years. First Extended Service Corp. will have paid out $2,500 on (3) claims in (9) months. I paid $1,350 for the (7) year ESP with wheel and tire coverage: definitely worth it.

Thankfully you blew a head gasket or you would be in the hole. If you can't fix it yourself and your ok with Harley only parts, then take the gamble and place your bet on it breaking.

Out of curiosity how long you been or going to be down for a head gasket?
