Yeah... Longhorn and Maverick are owned by the same folks. Didn't know that until I went to Longhorn this go around (my first visit since moving). When I lived in Denton I went to Maverick once before for the transmission oil transfer issue and got the same response... go figure.

Stopped in to Longhorn HD to buy my $100 of 15k service goodies: 7 qts. of SYN3 and an oil liter. I never thought I’d ever have to argue with someone so I can pay more LOL... When I put the 7 quarts on the counter the parts guy asked me if I was changing all three fluids - yes - then proceeded to attempt to convince me to put Amsoil transmission fluid in the transmission and HD primary fluid in the primary, even when I repeatedly told him I’m sticking with SYN3. I’ll save the details.
I informed him of the transmission fluid transfer issue I’ve been experiencing, and guess what? “I’ve never heard of that before. That’s impossible.” I showed him the TA0022 document I keep on my phone and he was baffled. Asking questions that made him suspicious of its validity... WTF. I gave him the part number of the ‘deflector’ kit and he looked it up and was thoroughly confused. I’M GLAD HE’S NOT IN SERVICE.

I completed my 15,000 mile service last night. I chose to change all three fluids this go around, and will continue to so, just because. SYN3 for all three holes, HD SuperPremium 5 filter, per usual.
The engine oil was deep brown, zilch on the magnet or in the drain pan. The transmission fluid was still clear, though discolored - this was the first time changed since 1,000 mile service, although I’ve replaced about half of it, or more, due to it transferring to the primary. The primary fluid was completely grey, with a little bit of silver “paste” on the magnet. Overall, I’m happy with the way the fluids looked.
Since it’s been a year, I completed the annual battery cleaning - and I’m glad I did. That thing was covered in dust and dirt. All the torques were fine, pressures good, levels good. And the $300 I avoided [again] was great!

And if you want a copy of my scheduled maintenance checklist, go here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2...XAtc3lCOU9oV0k. It makes a nice printable version for any specific mileage.

Engine: 122 oz.
Oil filter: 6 oz.
Transmission: 28 oz.
Primary: 36 oz.!!!
Refill,
Engine: 1 gal.
Transmission: 28 oz.
Primary: 30 oz.
Both sticks are midway between full and add (cold check). Primary is spot on by the book. I'll be keeping a close eye on the transmission level.
I thought you mentioned a while back that you refilled the engine with 1 gal. How much are you putting in the transmission and primary?
P.S. Filter funnel works great. Used an awl to punch holes at 12 and 6 o'clock. A couple drops got past it, but were absorbed by paper toweling placed beneath beforehand.

Hahaha I love it. That’s really my favorite comedy. That’s been my Facebook profile pic for a long time too. I’ll get a real picture on here soon.
