I think I would park the bike next to the tool box and pretty much check every nut & bolt I could see. Your looking at about 1100 miles up there from Paris with 17 hours travel time. The last thing you want to do is have something like a shifter fall off in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Don't forget to put the bike up on your lift and roll the tires around a couple of times to look for little nails embeded in your tread. It is far better to pull them out now to see if your Dunlops go flat at home rather than in the middle of Elk Jaw, Kansas somewhere. Just sayin cause I have been there. Good luck on your ride.

Yes, I will be riding to Sturgis from Paris (along with several other riders and a van full of women and toolboxes) and thanks for the input. Sounds like a good plan to check every bolt I see. I want to be able to check all the torque values as well, and it will take a very long time to search through the manual and find the torque values one by one. I'll have to do some hunting and pecking through the forum to find that list...
I'm starting to build my list of items to check:
-Critical Fasteners
-Tires
-Wheel Bearings
-Lights (including headlamp alignment with me, wife, and luggage)
-Engine Oil level
-Transmission Lubricant level
-Primary Lubricant level
-Brake and Clutch Fluid levels
-Oil Cooler (clear of debris)

I don't, sorry. I have been on business travel since I received the rack: mounted it, said, "damn that looks nice", and drove to the airport. I'll be back on Friday, so I will get pictures this weekend.
There are pics within the Amazon reviews that show it on various bikes. There's a couple pictures with it on a black denim RG.
